Marquette County is seeking a dedicated individual for a Youth Development Summer Assistant.

EMPLOYMENT PERIOD:    May – August, dates negotiable

SUMMARY OF POSTION:

This position is designed to provide assistance to County Extension staff during the busy summer months. The Youth Development Summer Assistant will increase his/her knowledge of youth development programs, community partnerships, volunteer development, the UW-Extension Service and the 4-H Youth Development Educator responsibilities. This summer position provides valuable pre-professional experience for educational and community based careers. The 4-H Summer Assistant is supervised by the Marquette County 4-H Youth Development Educator.

This position is a summer position from mid-May through August. Start and end dates are negotiable. This position works under the direction of the Marquette County Buildings and Grounds Department. This position will assist in the care and maintenance of all parks and facilities under the care of the Marquette Counties Buildings and Grounds Department

SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR

 MARQUETTE COUNTY, WI

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a full time Substance Abuse Counselor in our clinical services unit to provide substance abuse treatment services. Duties include intake, assessment, individual and group counseling, case management, outreach, education and prevention services.  

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services related field and a minimum of one year related work experience. Applicant must have Wisconsin Certification as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training (SAC-IT). Applicants must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to insured transportation. Applicants must pass background checks.

Salary range $20.38-23.97/hour dependent upon qualifications. Competitive benefit package available. HUMAN RESOURCES/PAYROLL MANAGER

MARQUETTE COUNTY, WI

This full-time position is under the direction of the Administrative Coordinator and County Executive & Finance Committee. The position is responsible for the processing and payment of all payrolls, administering all benefits available to employees, maintaining records and personnel files, keeping current on rules and regulations pertaining to payroll and benefits, preparing and filing reports with the federal and state governments and other parties as required. The position also handles insurance claims, assists with FMLA, union contracts and other personnel related issues including hiring and termination; and serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Administrative Coordinator.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field required.
Minimum of three years of payroll or personnel experience with governmental accounting or related fields also considered.
Proficient in Microsoft Office computer skills as well as other software packages, able to input data with accuracy and speed.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, government regulations, insurance policies and legal documents.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

This position will receive the full county benefit package and a salary range of $52,689 to $61,987 depending on education and qualifications. Anticipated start date of March 1, 2018 or shortly thereafter.

CPR certification and valid WI driver’s license with access to a vehicle required.  

Pay range is $25.33/hour - $29.80/hour based on qualifications and experience and includes full benefit package.

This position in our Health Department will provide health education, health promotion, health assessment, public health preparedness, and disease prevention activities in the community and schools.   

Qualifications for an RN: A Registered Nurse candidate will have an associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Wisconsin, with 1 year of public health nursing or general hospital experience preferred.  CPR certification and valid WI driver’s license with access to a vehicle required.

QUALIFICATIONS  

EDUCATION: High School Diploma/ or a letter of recommendation from a teacher if you are still in high school. 

EXPERIENCE / JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of light building maintenance and lawn maintenance required. Educational background in landscaping, lawn maintenance or other applicable areas of lawn/horticulture care preferred.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES encompasses all aspects of buildings, ground and landscape maintenance including: push mowing, string trimming, edging, power blowing debris, planting, weeding, painting, light construction. Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read, write and follow oral instruction.

  • Must be able to work cooperatively on a team.

  • Must be able to occasionally move about or remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly positions self to fulfil the duties of the position assisting in work in small mechanical rooms and other maintenance activities for facilities. Occasionally ascends/descends heights to accomplish work.

  • This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Must provide and wear appropriate shoes and clothes for work-open toed shoes are not allowed. Other safety equipment is provided.

  • The person in this position may communicate with customers who have inquiries on work and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LISCENSE
