Amish Buggy Operators and Motorist Guide
This brochure has been a culmination of a three county consortium that was initiated because of the tragic events of Amish Buggy/motor vehicle crashes in the three counties.
With the assistance of the Amish Community, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the local stakeholders, the brochure was developed using the template from Lancaster County Penn. Where the Amish and motoring public co-exist as they do here in Marquette County. This brochure will act as a template for the entire state of Wisconsin as this project is picked up by other communities.
It is the goal of the consortium that this brochure will act as a training tool for the motoring public as well as the Amish buggy drivers, and that we, as community leaders are deeply concerned over that safety and wellbeing of all of our citizens and visitors that travel our roadways.
There will be a joint news release at a later date that will be published in all of the news outlets as well as the publication in the Amish Communities. Currently we are printing the brochure that will be distributed to anyone of our citizens that has an interest.
