Events, Calendar and Newsletter
The Marquette County Historical Society is open every Wednesday from 1-4 pm. The society holds programs that promote various areas of historical interest and research.
In June, the Society sponsors a turn-of-the-century Strawberry Sociable held on the museum lawn.
The Society publishes their newsletter, Imprints four times a year.

 

 

2010 PROGRAM SCHEDULE

The collector has over 2000 pieces connected to  Wisconsin's role in the war.   They have some steps to climb, but looking at the picture, it isn't a long flight of stairs.  There is no restroom.   Admittance is freewill donation and we plan on being there at 1:30.   The address is 112 North Cleveland, four blocks west of Hwy. 51. Turn West off 51 onto East Holum, then right onto N. Cleveland.   Members can rideshare from MCHS  if they wish, leaving at 12:30.

 

BIG CHANGE!! 

We have changed the day of our Strawberry Sociable to be part of Westfield Dairy Days. 

· Strawberry Sociable and Pie Sale Saturday, JUNE 12, 2010  1:00—3:00

We need shortcake bakers, pie bakers, workers and shortcake eaters.  

·  JULY 9-11, MARQUETTE COUNTY FAIR

We will again have a booth and need volunteers to work it.

  • · July 24 Rummage sale and bake sale raising money for the renovation of Riverside School

· October 4 at 6:30 pm  Michael Goc    "The History of Aviation in Wisconsin". 

· November 8  Annual Membership meeting

· November 26 and 27 Holiday Open House with cookie walk sale.

· December 17 Vintage Christmas Ornaments by Tom Freitag. 

1 PM.  Tom has an extensive collection of vintage and antique Christmas decorations. 

This is also the membership Christmas Party.

Become a Volunteer
Volunteers play an important part in the success of the Marquette County Historical Society. Whether you are available for a weekly commitment or an occasional assignment, we can use your help.
Volunteers can help in some of the following ways:
Being a tour guide at the Cochrane-Nelson House and Kerst Exhibit Building
Helping with school tours and special events
Working on the Historical Society gardens and grounds
Cleaning, painting and maintaining the buildings
Researching local history and helping with our newsletter, Imprints
Working on exhibits
Archiving materials and artifacts
Playing a part in the annual Strawberry Sociable

Making a Donation
The Marquette County Historical Society accepts donations in a variety of ways.

Monetary Donations
Monetary donations of any amount are accepted and are used for many different purposes. If you would like your donation to be used for a specific purpose, we will do our best to honor your request.
