WIS 22 improvements scheduled to begin next week in Marquette County
Work to improve approximately 13.5 miles of WIS 22, between Park Street (Montello) and Marquette County JJ is scheduled to begin Monday, July 24.
DL Gasser Construction is the prime contractor for the $2.6 million project. Crews will mill the highway surface and overlay with new asphalt. Improvements include the reconstruction of the intersection with County J and culvert repairs.
WIS 22 will remain open to traffic during construction. Motorists can expect lane closures, flagging operations, and potential delays. County J will be closed at WIS 22 for approximately one month. Local access will maintained to WIS 22 and to County J.
Construction is scheduled for completion by late September 2017. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
Federal transportation funds will pay for 80 percent of the improvement project. State transportation funds will pay for 20 percent of the project.
Motorists are reminded that using handheld cell phones in Wisconsin work zones is illegal. For more information regarding traffic impacts, transportation news and improvement project updates in Wisconsin’s north central region:
