Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel
Crews are closing WIS 73 between Princeton and Neshkoro as early as 5 a.m. on Monday, June 5. During the closure traffic will be detoured via WIS 23 and WIS 22.
The closure is necessary for crews to apply a chip seal to the surface of the highway. A chip seal consists of a layer of crushed stone placed on top of an application of liquid asphalt. After the chip seal cures, crews sweep the highway to clear away loose stones. The process helps maintain and maximize the life of the pavement.
The highway is expected to reopen before the end of the day on Tuesday, June 6. A reduced, advisory 45 MPH speed limit will be present for approximately a week after the highway reopens.
The schedule is subject to change based on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
