Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a full time Substance Abuse Counselor in our clinical services unit to provide substance abuse treatment services. Duties include intake, assessment, individual and group counseling, case management, outreach, education and prevention services.  

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services related field and a minimum of one year related work experience. Applicant must have Wisconsin Certification as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training (SAC-IT). Applicants must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to insured transportation. Applicants must pass background checks.

HUMAN RESOURCES/PAYROLL MANAGER

This full-time position is under the direction of the Administrative Coordinator and County Executive & Finance Committee. The position is responsible for the processing and payment of all payrolls, administering all benefits available to employees, maintaining records and personnel files, keeping current on rules and regulations pertaining to payroll and benefits, preparing and filing reports with the federal and state governments and other parties as required. The position also handles insurance claims, assists with FMLA, union contracts and other personnel related issues including hiring and termination; and serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Administrative Coordinator.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field required.
Minimum of three years of payroll or personnel experience with governmental accounting or related fields also considered.
Proficient in Microsoft Office computer skills as well as other software packages, able to input data with accuracy and speed.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, government regulations, insurance policies and legal documents.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

This position will receive the full county benefit package and a salary range of $52,689 to $61,987 depending on education and qualifications. Anticipated start date of March 1, 2018 or shortly thereafter.

Public Health Nurse

Qualifications for a PHN:  A Public Health Nurse candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from an NLN accredited nursing program, a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Wisconsin, and 1-3 years public health or general hospital experience. CPR certification and valid WI driver’s license with access to a vehicle required.  

Pay range is $25.33/hour - $29.80/hour based on qualifications and experience and includes full benefit package.

Marquette County Register of Deeds has an opening for a permanent part time (16 hours weekly) Deputy Register of Deeds position.  This position is responsible for assisting the Register of Deeds in day-to-day duties by providing professional and administrative work for the recording, indexing and accessing of legal documents affecting interest in real estate and vital records.   

This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years’ experience.  Background in a law office and computer experience is preferred.  Qualifications include knowledge of real estate documents; knowledge of the varied methods of real estate financing; knowledge of state statutes relating to real estate instruments; knowledge of legal descriptions; the ability to enter appropriate information into a database index at an acceptable rate and the ability to interpret, explain and apply policies, regulations, laws and procedures.

General Highway Laborer

Qualifications for an RN: A Registered Nurse candidate will have an associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Wisconsin, with 1 year of public health nursing or general hospital experience preferred.  CPR certification and valid WI driver’s license with access to a vehicle required. 

Qualifications for a PHN:  A Public Health Nurse candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from an NLN accredited nursing program, a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Wisconsin, and 1-3 years public health or general hospital experience. Wisconsin certification as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) required.
